Exposure

The plants of the Ulex europaeus , commonly called ginestrone , should be placed in a sunny place, if grown in an excessively shady position, the gorse tends to grow poorly and flower poorly. Usually it does not fear the cold, although it is advisable to cover the canopy during the winter in regions with very cold winters, using the farm fabric, so as to avoid exposure to excessively intense and persistent frost.

In case of very harsh climate, it could be useful to place some mulching material at the foot of the plant, to protect the root system.

Thanks to its resistance it can be cultivated without problems in the ground, respecting the precautions just described if the climate is particularly cold.

They are very decorative plants and can be successfully used to colour gardens.
