A succulent apartment plant, native to Asia and Australia, which is part of a family of over 70-80 varieties. It has fleshy leaves and stems, which secrete a sticky substance if cut; the leaves are oval, pointed, of a nice pale green colour, appear opaque as they are covered by a waxy cuticle. In spring and summer, it produces big and showy inflorescences, formed by small star-shaped flowers, also waxy, white-pink, with red centre, very perfumed, especially in the evening hours.
